The ladies of the New York Sirens are halfway into their second season of the Professional Women's Hockey League.
"It's cool to see it continue to grow, more and more fans out to games, more and more people watching on TV and more and more girls getting into hockey," said Micah Zandee-Hart.
Micah Zandee-Hart is the team's one and only captain.
"We talk about our why, why we show up every day," said Zandee-Hart. "For a lot of us we didn't have anything to look up to when we were kids. There was the Olympics but that was kinda it."
"So for little girls to be able to look up to the PWHL now and us to be that for them," said Zandee-Hart. "That's something we carry on our back every day. It's not a weight, it propels us forward."
Micah and team take their practice at Essex County Codey Arena to their home ice at the Rock.
The NY Sirens face off against the Montréal Victoire tonight at 7 p.m. at the Prudential Center.
