A Hartford judge sentenced a Brazilian man to 9 months in prison for assaulting a federal officer.
According to court documents, the Department of Homeland Security had an outstanding arrest warrant for Ferreria Borges.
Borges was facing five charges from an arrest back in September 2023.
During a separate arrest in June 2025, Borges is said to have kicked, flailed and screamed at federal officers.
Law enforcement says he also bit an officer and spat at another.
He faces immigration proceedings after his time in prison.
