The body of a Princeton University student missing since Saturday has been found, according to Regan Crotty, dean of undergraduate students.
Crotty said that the body of Lauren Blackburn, 23, was found at Lake Carnegie Friday morning. He was last seen Saturday near a library on campus.
“Our hearts are heavy, and we share our deepest condolences with Lauren’s family and friends. It is during these difficult times that we must draw strength and support from one another and from those in our community who are available to us for counsel and care,” Crotty wrote in a statement.
Search efforts have been focused on the lake for the last few days after Blackburn’s phone was traced nearby. The lake is very close to Princeton’s main campus.
The cause and manner of Blackburn’s death were not immediately known.
Princeton officials say counselors will be available for students in need.
