After 3-5 inches of snow on Sunday, it is a cold and blustery start to the week as Arctic air settles in today and for Tuesday as well. Wind chills will make it feel especially harsh, with the coldest conditions this morning with a below zero feel outside because of the gusty winds up to 30 mph. Areas of black ice are possible today and tonight as any standing water is now frozen, watch your step!
Temperatures slowly rebound midweek into the 40s to even near 50 under mostly dry conditions before rain and wind arrives Thursday night into Friday. This will allow for the current snow cover to melt by either Wednesday or Thursday. Stay tuned to News12 CT for the latest weather updates all week long!
Today: Increasing clouds and bitterly cold. Afternoon temperatures only reach the upper 20s to near 30, with wind chills staying in the single digits to teens. Winds remain brisk out of the west.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and less windy. Still cold but improving, with highs in the low to mid-30s.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny and noticeably milder. Afternoon temperatures climb into the lower to mid-40s.
Thursday: Partly sunny and turning even warmer, with highs in the upper 40s to near 50. Rain develops later in the day.
Friday: Breezy with lingering rain chances early, then partial clearing. Highs remain mild, near 50.
Saturday: Partly sunny and cooler again, with temperatures settling back into the upper 30s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with another chance for rain. Highs rebound into the mid to upper 40s.
