An outbreak of bird flu is possibly linked to the deaths of geese in Allentown. As a precaution, borough officials have closed off three parks to the public where the birds were found.
News 12’s Chris Keating reports that the parks that have been closed are Sensi Park, Dr. Farmer's Park and Heritage Park. Warning signs have been posted that advise people to stay away from the water and any dead birds they may encounter.
According to reports, 25-30 Canada geese were recently found dead in the area. The birds have since been removed by a contractor hired by the borough and are being tested to determine the exact cause of death.
