It's Thursday and that means it's time to visit some of the state's best beaches. This morning. We're in Lava News called New Jersey's. Jim Murdock is joining us from a popular coffee spot. Love a job. A good morning, Jim. They're celebrating a milestone. Yes. Good morning, everybody. Thanks for watching News. 12, New Jersey. This morning, we're live here at Lava Java in Lavalette where they are celebrating a decade of service to the local community. We have Brook and mixologist Kyle back behind the bar this morning. First of all, what are we looking at here on the counter? Good morning. Thank you so much for coming. I appreciate you all. This is a lot of Java and this is our lava Java drink. This is basically a chocolate milk with espresso and whipped cream. Really can't go wrong if you're not really into coffee. This is a great start. Our specialty drink. We also carry lemonades for the kids and the adults. You can also add things later night, later on at home. This is a cotton candy lemonade. We also carry Barbie lemonade, pomegranate, lemonade and lemonade. You can possibly for the for the adult day time and night time. Come on over here. You have to show off. Here we go. You're not just known for coffee. We are also known for our enormous breakfast sandwiches. This is just a pork roll and cheese. Let's see if we get a little cheese. Jersey shore staple. No egg on this guy. Six pieces of thick cut pork. All sandwiches are standard two eggs, lots of meat, lots of cheese. This is our BLT, a bacon lettuce, tomato avocado. It's a very popular item. We carry one wheat rye, multi grain and sourdough. We make homemade granola also, which is a very popular item. Also comes with a trio of fruit, strawberry blueberry banana Brooke before we wrap it up. What is the best thing about having a coffee shop here in this beautiful resort town at the Jersey shore, feeding people making people happy, giving them drinks, caffeinating their day, getting them on their start. First thing in the morning, the coffee is most important. We make sure we have good attitudes. Everyone's welcome here. We, we get you in and get you out as fast as possible because we know there's a lot of other places with lots of speed around. But we do the same thing. We got inside, outside coffee service. We just love having people here. We play great music. We've got a great vibe, old school stuff going on. I like the eighties theme. I like the old school, Betty white, cut out, out front. You've got some of the artists too. From East Village in New York City. From 100 to 1. Exactly. You know, all ages go. We love it. How's the summer going so far? Great. It's been very busy this year. This is probably one of our best summers and it's going real fast. Almost over. Oh, that's so great. That's so great. 10 years. Can you believe it? It's had to, had to have flown by here. It has Jim. Thursday. And that means it's time to visit some of the state's best beaches this morning. We're in Lavalette News. Twelve's Jim Murdoch is joining us now, Jim, you're at the historic Trade Winds Motel this morning. That's right. Of course, if you're visiting Lavalette, you need somewhere to stay and why not do it right here at the Trade Winds Motor Lodge. It's been in business for 54 years. Totally family owned and operated. We've got Walter. Tommy and Tammy. Walter. Let's start with you. I understand it's been in the family for 54 years. This is a gem. This is something special. Yes, it's, uh, 54 years. Our family built it along with some other relatives. We're very proud of the building. It's held up extremely well. We, we upgrade something every year. We always have a major project that we start to prepare for next season. Um, we're very excited about the renovations. We've made a lot of external, a lot of internal, all new floors just constantly looking to improve, to get better for next summer. Tommy, I understand that no vacancies right now, the signs lit up, but as we were talking before September the best month at the beach. Yes, it's definitely the best month we will be open all the way until October. Give guests the opportunity to come down experience kind of a local summer. No crowds, great weather and uh also hosting a couple weddings, family events. So first year I'll be open all the way to October and give guests the opportunity to enjoy lava. And Tammy also show us some of the amenities around here. I understand you've got a beautiful pool and a nice sun deck. So you're always in the sunshine here at the hotel. We do, everyone loves our sun deck. Uh We're looking to host some events there in the future. Uh They also enjoy the pool. We've had some fun getting inside the rooms this year. I've kind of updated some with a little bit of a more of Boho coastal theme. First and foremost, we provide the most immaculate room for our guests. That's the best feedback we can receive. That's what makes us so popular. People come and they want a nice immaculate room. I have a very hard working staff and we appreciate all their efforts every day to make our guests feel comfortable. And of course, being here for 54 years, that's a couple of generations. Are you seeing people returning now old enough to have their own kids and keeping that tradition going? Well, we do have one guest, Frank, uh Troo who's been here for 54 years. He was 16 when he started. Um, he has, uh, enjoys room tent every year and, uh, he was just here this season and he's coming back in September guys. Thank you so much. It's Thursday and that means it's time to visit some of the best beaches the state has to offer this morning. We're in lavalette news from New Jersey's Jim Murdock is joining us live, Jim No beach is complete without, without a little mini golf. And this one is all about the shore. What a meta perspective on this one. A Jersey shore themed mini golf course at the Jersey shore, the brainchild of Kathy and Dan Mila and we're going to kick it off with one of the holes. It's the Garden State Parkway heading north down Kathy. Would you do the honors? Of course, we need the masters jacket to make this punt and we'll give this a shot. I made this in rehearsal. So let's see what we can do real quick. Here we go. That's gonna be too hard. Oh, maybe you're the shape mark white. But tell us about this awesome themed golf course here. Well, we've been open for this is our eighth summer and there's lots of Jersey sh stuff. Yeah, you can take us around. Let's see all the different holes in a different state Parkway. This is our Hurricane Sandy Hole you know, creates a little storm part of the history of the Jersey shore. Um, there are some, uh, the whole shore is based on, you know, things that are fun and stuff. One of the things and one of my favorite holes is the, uh, outside the outdoor shower. Yes. Come on over here and see the outdoor does take an outside shower down here. Great. And so it just goes on, you can cool off on a hot day. Dan and Kathy. They are open every day through Labor Day weekend. So, come check it out here. Lava Golf. You get the Jersey shore, the golf course here at the Jersey shore. We're live in Lavalette. It's Thursday and that means it's time to visit some of the state's best beaches. And this morning we're in Lavalette News. 12, New Jersey's Jim Murdock is live at a shore staple. The music man. A place, Jim for ice cream and a show of course and a whole lot more. I know the la de has been looking forward to this segment all morning long. This is so exciting. It's an ice cream shop like no other here in Ocean County, Aggie Roberts. The person behind this magic in here. Tell us all about the music, man. Well, the music man is a singing ice cream shop. So you come in, you, you order ice cream. You may have to sing and dance and chat for your ice cream. And then you see cabaret show with all of our performers that come from all over the country. This has been going on for 22 years here in La Valette and getting bigger every summer. We hope so. Um, we love Lavalette. We love being here. It's a family driven community and we want to provide family entertainment for all. What are the hours? Uh We open at night, we do uh, five shows in the evening. We start at 445. We do 4 45 678 15 and 930. So we do five shows a night reservations required. Oh, well, we, we encourage them, that's for sure because, uh, we do sell out every show. And, uh, how late are you open until in the season? We do Labor Day and then two weekends after Labor Day, we do a Halloween show, a Christmas show and then a Super Bowl show as well. Well, the stars of the show are standing patiently right behind you. Ladies. Please say saying um yeah, well, same love.
