After a winter storm blanketed Bergen County with snow, residents took advantage of the snow day to get outside, have fun and run errands.
In Ridgewood, families and children hit the hills for sledding, embracing the fresh snow and school closures.
“Well, it is a snow day, we got over 12 inches of snow, so there was no school. We’re going to have a lot of fun sledding. This is the best hill in Ridgewood,” one resident said.
For many kids, the day off from school felt like a celebration.
“Really, really, really fun,” one child said when asked how it felt to have no school.
Others spent the day catching up on errands.
Grocery stores saw shoppers restocking supplies after staying home during the storm.
“It’s really a nice break. I needed something for dinner tonight, and it feels good to be out,” said Joan, a Franklin Lakes resident.
While many enjoyed the break in the weather, some residents said they are already watching the forecast, with another snowstorm possibly approaching this weekend.
Snow lovers say another storm wouldn’t be a bad thing.
“I love snow,” one child said.
