Taverna on the Hudson in Bayonne is gearing up for a major influx of visitors as excitement builds for the World Cup, with management expecting a strong overflow crowd from Manhattan and across the region. “We are expecting a huge overflow from Manhattan here in Bayonne and we are totally ready for it, said Tanya Shoudy, its media relations person. "We are ready with drink specials, cocktail specials, pre-game dining, and post-game fun.” The restaurant says it is fully prepared to welcome both locals and international fans with a high-energy, themed experience designed around match days. Guests can expect food and drink specials, country-inspired cocktails, and pre-game dining options, along with post-game entertainment to keep the celebration going.
Taverna on the Hudson is also offering happy hour Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., giving fans an early start before kickoff. In addition to walk-in service, the restaurant is encouraging guests to reserve in advance for World Cup watch parties and group gatherings, as demand is expected to be high throughout the tournament. From vibrant themed décor and live entertainment—including belly dancers and a saxophonist—to a full lineup of global-inspired dishes such as hummus, salmon and other Mediterranean favorites, the venue is aiming to deliver a full World Cup experience under one roof. With its close proximity to MetLife Stadium and major transit routes, Taverna on the Hudson says it is positioning itself as a go-to destination for fans throughout the tournament.
