Fans heading to World Cup matches in New Jersey are being urged by NJ Transit not to walk to the stadium amid concerns about safety and access.
The warning comes after social media posts suggested some fans were considering walking to avoid a $150 train ticket.
NJ Transit told News 12 the highways surrounding the stadiums are not suitable for pedestrians. Officials say public transportation is designed to move fans back and forth safely.
Law enforcement will be stationed around the stadium and will restrict fans from walking in the area, NJ Transit says.
Officials say the guidance is meant to ensure safety during large crowds expected for World Cup games.
