Bayonne Little League's season is over, but the hometown faithful are still plenty proud of their boys.

Bayonne - Team Metro - was down by five and battled back, even bringing the tying run to the plate in the final inning. Bayonne ultimately lost 5-2 to the team from Hamilton, Ohio - Team Great Lakes.

The 12-and-under team will return home to Hudson County with a pair of wins in the Little League World Series, a state championship and a final ranking as one of the six best Little League teams in America.

Over at The Starting Point Bar and Grill, the standing-room crowd erupted in applause after their team made its final out.

Fans who spoke with News 12 ensured that the spirit of "Bayonne vs. Everybody" will live on long after the team returns home from Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
