A Union County tennis player got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the U.S. Open men's final.
Eleven-year-old Hannah Lari of Summit had the honor of carrying the championship trophy onto center court during the awards ceremony.
Hannah took part in the ceremony following the men's final and shared the court with finalists Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton. Zverev won his second major championship and prevented a first Grand Slam title by an American man since 2003, beating Shelton 6-3, 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-2 on Sunday.
Lari told News 12 it was an inspiring experience to be part of one of tennis' biggest events.
Hannah says she hopes to one day compete in the U.S. Open herself.
