Milford shut down nine license plate readers after persistent concerns from people in the area.
The cameras were deactivated between Aug. 12 and Aug. 25. They include locations along U.S. 1 and near the Connecticut Post Mall.
The city says the physical devices are expected to be removed around Sept. 21.
Milford's speed and red-light cameras have also been paused and are no longer recording violations following a board of aldermen resolution.
