Three cars caught fire in the parking lot of The Edge Fitness Club in Fairfield on Monday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Crews say concerned callers reported that the fire started with one vehicle, spread to two others and was getting close to the building.

Officials say no one was hurt.

Besides putting out flames from the cars, crews say they also made sure to keep hazardous runoff from the fire, including fluids, from entering a nearby storm drain – the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was called for assistance.

The Fairfield Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
