Dylan Contreras, who was arrested by ICE agents in May, is set to be deported.
The 20-year-old was seeking asylum from Venezuela. His attorneys say that the judge has denied this.
Contreras spent the last four months detained in an ICE facility located in Pennsylvania after his arrest at a routine court appearance in Manhattan.
Public Advocate Jumaane Williams spoke out in support of Contreras, saying that he was following the proper process to apply for asylum, and that this move is not being made in the name of public safety.
