Two school aides were slashed by a student at a high school in the Bronx.

Police say that the 911 call came in just before 10:30 a.m. for a man slashed at William Taft High School. Officers found two men who were both conscious and alert with slash wounds.

Sources say both men are school aides.

The source says that a 53-year-old got into an apparent argument with a teen student, who slashed him in the arm with what appears to be a scalpel.

The source also says that the second man tried to stop the fight and was slashed in the hand.

A spokesperson for the Department of Education says that this behavior is both unacceptable and deeply concerning. "Acts of violence have no place in our school community, and this incident will be addressed with the utmost seriousness in accordance with school policies and the law," they said. "We will be providing additional support to the school in the coming days." Police are now looking for the teen who was wearing a black T-shirt, blue sweatpants, blue sneakers and a black backpack.
