A court case in Peekskill involving a man beaten during an arrest has taken a turn as the first two responding officers were suspended without pay.
Peekskill’s police chief suspended the first officer on scene, Daniel Regg, saying he failed to communicate and de‑escalate. The second officer, Angelo Cintron, was suspended for failing to follow department conduct standards while assisting.
Fields’ attorney, Michael Sussman, requested evidence related to the officers’ personnel records. The judge adjourned the case until March 26 to give the prosecution and police time to provide the material.
Sussman said he may seek dismissal of the charges, but not at this stage.
