Prosecutors: 2 men charged for multiple gas station store burglaries in Somerset County

Prosecutors say various vape products were stolen on different occasions.

Two South Plainfield men were charged with several burglaries in Somerset County.
Prosecutors say Macario Wilchez, 20, and Rafael Maisonet, 18, broke into several gas station stores in Somerville along Route 22 between May 2 and May 13. On one occasion, authorities say Wilchez was identified wearing a hoodie, face mask and gloves while attempting to pull the handle of the door to a closed convenience store in North Plainfield. Wilchez was also in possession of a small hatchet, authorities say.
According to prosecutors, various vape products were stolen on different occasions.
Wilchez and Maisonet were both arrested and later released pending a future court date. Both men face multiple theft and burglary charges.
