The top "Yu-gi-oh" duelists from across Long Island competed in East Rockaway as Rocco Anthony's hosted an all-day "Yu-gi-oh" tournament on Saturday.
Over 250 members of the card community joined in on the fun. But duelists of varying skill and ability weren't just there to compete - they were there to reunite with life-long friends.
"These guys are all coming from being nerds at school, hanging out, playing the same games together, and then after years and years of spending time together, they get so close that going to these events is like a large family reunion of guys who haven't seen each other in years," said tournament organizer Matt Digeronimo.
The event also featured cards for collectors of all kinds to buy.
