Police tell News 12 a woman is on the run after attempting to kidnap a 2-year-old child in West Farms on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The mother was followed by an unknown woman into the laundry room at 988 E. 180th St., police say. That's when the woman grabbed the mother by the arm and demanded she give her the child.

The mother and child were not harmed physically and were able to get away from the suspect. As for the suspect, police say she got away on an elevator and exited the building on the 12th floor.
