A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Brownsville Friday, police said.

Authorities said they responded to a call on Pitkin Avenue and Osborn Street just before 6:50 a.m. about a gray vehicle with an unidentified driver traveling on Pitkin Avenue striking a woman crossing the street.

The driver did not remain on the scene, and the woman suffered head and body trauma and was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said. Police did not identify the victim.

The NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is investigating, and no arrests have been made as of Friday morning.
