A woman threatened to burn a Massapequa Park home down with two children inside, according to police.
Officials say Stephanie Spada, 46, and a 50-year-old man had a fight inside the Ocean Avenue home on Tuesday.
It escalated and the man left. That is when police say Spada sent him the threatening text.
News 12 has been told Spada placed a propane tank on top of the stove.
A 10- and 14-year-old were inside the home at the time. No one was hurt.
Residents say it's shocking to hear.
"It's scary. A very scary event that happened," says resident Joe Dionisio.
"A little scary, but I'm happy nothing happened and no one was hurt," says resident Adam Naser. "Pretty scary to hear that it happened right here in our neighborhood."
Spada was charged with arson in the second degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
