5h agoWilliam Floyd High School in Mastic Beach will be installing three metal detectors at entrances starting Monday, Dec.16.
It’s starting as a pilot program, and the plan is to eventually install them at all entrances.
The move was made after a student brought a loaded gun to school in October.
The district says eventually, it will add the detectors to middle and elementary schools.
