The Harborfields High School girls’ volleyball team used Saturday's match against West Babylon as a chance to support their neighboring community following the car crash that killed three people, including two teenagers, and seriously injured three other teenagers.

"This is bigger than volleyball,” said Joey Greenberg, one of the senior captains on the Harborfields team. “We want to support them as a team, and no matter how the game goes today…we're here for them."

Harborfields showed that support by handing out ribbons in West Babylon colors that fans both had on their shirts, and the players wore in their hair during the match.

The team also hosted a bake sale and posted QR codes around the gym, with all the money going to a GoFundMe set up to benefit the families impacted by the crash.

The crash killed Riley Goot and injured Austin Treeza, both graduated last year from West Babylon. The captains of the West Babylon team went to elementary school with Treeza’s sister, Bella, who also died in the crash.

"Everyone's - not just our town - probably hurting, so seeing everyone just support us…has definitely helped," said captain Anya Edwards.

The West Babylon players told News 12 that both Austin Trezza and Jack Murphy, who were hurt in the crash are now out of the hospital. Anthony Pagliuca is still in the hospital and doing better, they say.
