Police in Gloucester County said they arrested a DoorDash driver en route to a delivery – then finished the job themselves.

A motorist stopped near a local high school Sunday in Washington Township was found to have outstanding warrants, authorities said.

Police conducted the traffic stop around noon in front of the high school. During the investigation, officers determined the driver was wanted on active warrants and took the individual into custody.

While being arrested, the driver told officers he was in the middle of delivering a DoorDash order to a nearby home. Officers completed the delivery to the customer before the vehicle was towed, police said.

No additional details about the warrants were immediately released.
