HEADLINES: Weekend warmup
A coastal flood advisory is in effect overnight with tides running one foot above normal. Minor flooding is expected in any low-lying vulnerable areas right near the water.
Clouds give way to sunshine by Friday afternoon with temperatures on the rise into the weekend.
Saturday will be dry and breezy with a fire weather watch. Highs will be near 60 degrees.
Sunday will be the better weekend day with less wind and pleasant conditions.
Dry weather continues into next week while parts of Long Island are now in a severe drought. We could be looking at our next chance for wet weather later next week.
