It's Election Day and there are a few things you should know before you head to the polls:
        • No Campaign Gear Allowed: Leave hats, shirts, and buttons promoting candidates or propositions at home. New York is among 21 states banning such items at polling stations.
        • Busy Polls Expected: Stay in line even if polls close at 9 p.m. You have the right to vote.
        • Mistakes Happen: Request a new ballot if you make an error, and ask for a paper ballot if machines are down.
        • Provisional Ballots: If registered but not listed in the poll book, you're entitled to a provisional ballot. It'll be processed separately.
Polls are open until 9 p.m.
