Vandals cause thousands in damage at historic Camp Evans in Wall

A historic landmark in Wall Township has been badly damaged, with more than $8,000 in vandalism reported at Camp Evans.
The damage includes 17 broken windows and a garage at the Officer Quarters of the former military site.
Police believe the vandalism happened sometime over the past five days.
Camp Evans was once a Marconi wireless telegraph station and later played a role in World War II and the Cold War.
The U.S. Signal Corps used the site for early radar and electronic warfare research, making it a key part of national defense history.
The property is owned by Wall Township.
