The Union County Prosecutor's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in Linden.

The shooting happened on the 1300 block of Roselle Street, according to the prosecutor's office, which confirmed it is actively investigating the incident.

Linden police said an officer discharged a weapon during the incident. Both the officer and the other person involved were taken to separate hospitals for treatment. Authorities did not immediately release information about their conditions.

Roselle Street remained closed between Jackson Avenue and Pierce Avenue as the investigation continued Monday evening.
