Police have arrested a woman in connection with a shooting on New Year’s Day in Cypress Hills that left another woman injured.

The 2:42 a.m. Thursday shooting occurred outside the Hotel Sunborn on New Jersey Avenue.

Officers say the woman was shot in the right side of her torso. She was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is expected to recover.

Police on Friday said that Ramani Jefferson, 24, of Texas, is facing charges, including assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and final charges will be made pending review by the district attorney’s office. Police have not released details about what led up to the shooting.

No additional injuries were reported.
