The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers says a Bronx livery driver was fatally shot in the head in Tremont on New Year's Day.
The NYSFTD identified the victim as Issa Isac and is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Police discovered the 55-year-old man in a car with multiple gunshot wounds to the head just before 7 a.m. at Morris Avenue and Cross Bronx Expressway.
Authorities say EMS pronounced Isac dead at the scene.
The NYSFTD released an image of Isac.
“Our drivers deserve to come home safely. No one should be killed simply for trying to provide for their family, and we need the public’s help to ensure justice is served,” said Steven Rivera, president of NYSFTD.
“This seems to have started as a minor fender bender. Two men tried to pull Issa Isac out of his car, and when Issa sped off to get away, the two men opened fire,” said Fernando Mateo, spokesman for NYSFTD. “This was a disgraceful and cowardly act of violence, and someone out there saw what happened. We need them to come forward now.”
The NYSFTD urges anyone with information to call NYPD Crime Stoppers 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
