Animal officials in Woodbridge are trying to bring home the bacon, as the search continues for at least one stray pig on the loose.
Two pigs were found wandering around neighborhoods in Woodbridge Tuesday.
One neighbor on Old Quarry Road reported a pig wandering around their yard, animal officials say.
Hours later, animal control received another call about a different pig roaming around the area of nearby Acorn Hill Road.
"Rare that you hear about a pig in your neighborhood," resident Dawn Ferullo says. "Even rarer that you hear about two pigs!"
Woodbridge Animal Control says one of the stray pigs has been captured safely.
While officers are trying to track down the owner of the female potbellied mix, there's still at least one other pig still at large.
"It's a little weird," resident Joe Lawruszko says. "It got out of somebody's pen, so hopefully whoever is missing it, finds it and it makes its way back home."
Officials say it's a light-colored pig, and could be near the areas of Old Quarry Road And Acorn Hill Road.
"I'm just curious where it is," resident Carrie Kocik says. "There's a lot of predators out here that I'm sure would enjoy finding a pig."
Animal control says there could even be more on the loose they don't know about.
Neighbors say this kind of thing doesn't happen often.
"I didn't think two pigs getting loose would make everyone go crazy trying to find them," resident Eamon Sax says. "I'm hoping they capture the other one, so it's back to where it belongs."
Woodbridge Animal Control is asking anyone with information to call them at 203-389-5991.
