The Treasury Department plans to stop issuing paper checks for most payments on Sept. 30.
That includes Social Security beneficiaries.
The change is part of the Trump administration's effort to save money and fight fraud.
More than half a million Social Security recipients still need to choose direct deposit or a prepaid debit card.
