The Town of Islip is looking for a private investor for MacArthur Airport.
The town tells News 12 it is putting out a request for qualifications to developers today.
The plan is to find a private partner to build a terminal and direct connection to the Ronkonkoma train station.
The town says they have two terminal options to evaluate. One would be adjacent to the train station, the other would be on the south side of MacArthur Airport.
As News 12 has reported, the state pledged $150 million to build a pedestrian walkway from the airport to the train station in March.
