After a surprise storm caused dozens of car accidents earlier in the week, the town of Fairfield is taking every precaution this time around.
"The snow started sticking," Jose Torres said about Monday's storm. “It was very slippery and got icy pretty quick."
More than two dozen trucks were loaded up with salt and mounted with plows Friday.
The town says crews will head out as early as 4 a.m. Saturday morning to pre-treat roads.
“Twenty-six trucks I counted," Torres says. "I don’t even know how many tons of salt."
The town is asking residents to drive slowly and to give crews plenty of space to do their job.
“Stay home if you can," Torres says. "Be safe, enjoy your weekend.”
