People across Connecticut are doing their best to stay cool in these extremely hot conditions – like getting in the Long Island Sound or a pool.
There is also an air quality alert across the state, which could be a problem for people with breathing issues like asthma. "Heat stroke is a medical emergency. You're going to have altered mental status which means you're going to seem confused, you won't seem yourself or you might even pass out," said Dr Justin Cahill, chair of emergency medicine at Bridgeport Hospital.
Don't forget the sunscreen and take advantage of several cooling centers open in our area, including Bridgeport.
