A three-alarm fire spread between two Yonkers homes Wednesday morning, sending firefighters into a battle to stop the flames.

The fire broke out around 6 a.m. at 13 Cedar St., a three-story wood-frame building, according to fire officials.

While crews were responding, dispatchers began receiving multiple calls reporting flames showing from the structure.

The first units on scene confirmed heavy fire on the third floor and launched an aggressive interior attack and search.

Officials said the fire had already spread to a neighboring building at 15 Cedar St. by the time firefighters arrived.

The blaze was upgraded to a third alarm as crews worked to contain it.

Fire officials said the fire has been contained to the two buildings and the main body of the fire has been knocked down.

Officials reported that one person may have been removed from the fire building, although that information had not yet been confirmed.

There was no immediate word on injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
