State police are asking for the public’s help identifying a person who stole around $50,000 worth of walnuts in Hunts Point.

Investigators say approximately 60,000 pounds of shelled walnuts were taken from two trailers on March 2.

The nuts were in packages intended for commercial distribution. Officials believe the suspect may attempt to sell them to third party vendors, wholesalers or distributors in New York City.
