Sledding, ice skating, hot chocolate, all perfect winter activities, but all come with a cost.
Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says, "If you are thinking about taking the family ice skating to one of our great rinks in the tri-state area it is about $20 when you are talking about skate rental and rink time, not including the hot chocolate that everybody is going to want about half way through, but if you are talking about going skiing, sledding or tubing in any of our little great resorts in the tri-state area, about $45 during the week, cheaper for kids, and for seniors and vets. On the weekend you are looking around $75."
He says of course those prices can vary depending on when and where you go.
But there are ways to save. News 12's Kristie Reeter found that many credit cards offer deals.
If you have the Chase Freedom credit card, you can get 20% off on merchandise in The Rink Store.
And at Bryant Park if you use your Bank of America card you get 10% off some skate rentals.
