NYPD drone and body-worn camera footage helped officers arrest a group of teens who were seen riding on top of a southbound B train in Brooklyn on July 20.

Police recovered six stolen MTA keys from one of the teens during the arrest.

Commuters like Christie Christopher say the video is sobering.

“That’s insane. I really never knew they would do it drastically," said Christopher.

According to police, NYPD drones spotted six people riding on top of the train as it traveled from Newkirk Plaza to Kings Highway at 4:13 p.m.

A 12-year-old boy was charged with reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration and criminal trespassing.

A 13-year-old boy was charged with reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration and criminal trespassing.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal trespassing.

Two 15-year-old boys were each charged with reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.

Christopher said there could have been a much worse outcome.

“No parent wants to lose their child at all," said Christopher.

For Nataliya Rudenko, that nightmare became a reality. News 12 previously reported her daughter Zemfira was found dead on top of a subway car in Brooklyn back in October while subway surfing. In the wake of this incident, Rudenko tells News 12 she wants to see increased security and monitoring on social media for subway surfing.

"Catch and cut, close the account. They continue uploading these videos and kids watching, they think it's fun," said Rudenko.

The NYPD says they prohibit movement between trains to combat subway surfing and use drones like in this instance. The NYPD says so far this year there have been at least 112 arrests in connection to subway surfing and one death.

Anyone who sees someone subway surfing is asked to call 911 immediately.
