The Connecticut Airport Authority said Friday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers recently conducted several targeted operations at Bradley International Airport.

CAA officials say the federal agents wore plain clothes and were not readily identifiable as ICE agents. CAA says its staff did not help with the operations and only became aware of them after the fact.

Officials add that the CAA has no authority to intervene or prevent these operations, which mostly happen in areas under the control of the federal government.

"The mission of the CAA is to provide the safest and most convenient facilities for our workforce and the many families and individuals traveling through Bradley International Airport, and this initiative does not further that mission," an official said in a statement.

Rep. John Larson said in a statement Friday that ICE also conducted operations at Tweed-New Haven Airport. A Tweed offical tells News 12 they have not received any notice from TSA of any activity at the airport by ICE.

Larson also claims that ICE has allegedly used passengers’ personal pre-flight data, including names, addresses and credit card numbers to identify people and remove them from security lines as part of the routine screening process.

News 12 has reached out to ICE but has not heard back.
