The exceptional danger of this storm comes with its slow and limited movement. Torrential rainfall could lead to life-threatening flash flooding and landslides on top of damaging wind and coastal flooding. The News 12 Storm Watch Team will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Melissa, which is forecast to become a hurricane over the weekend, and potentially a major hurricane by early next week.
