OVERVIEW
It's been a mild week in Western Connecticut, but things are about to change in a big way starting the weekend. Temperatures are expected to be at or below average for at least the next 10 days.
First, a look back. Yesterday, Wednesday October 22, high temperatures reached the mid and upper 60s (67F in Bridgeport) under lots of sunshine. It's warmer than the average high of 62F, We will keep the sunshine, but temperatures will not be this warm again anytime in the near future.
Today and tomorrow are pleasant with high temperatures reaching the low 60s with sunshine and less wind. Grab the heavier jackets early in the morning because temperatures will be near 40 degrees. This weekend looks nice with plenty of sunshine, but it will be our coldest weekend since last spring. High temperatures will struggle to reach the mid 50s and morning lows will drop into the 30s in all but our warmest neighborhoods along the Long Island Sound. The last week of October continues the trend of cool weather with highs generally in the 50s. We will have to watch for rain on Wednesday and Thursday. A few stray showers could linger into Halloween next Friday, but it does look drier than the middle of next week.
