Sunny and warm weather to start July in the Bronx; tracking possible storms for Fourth of July

The News 12 Storm Watch Team says July begins with nice weather and lower humidity.

NEXT: Almost a carbon copy on Tuesday with plenty of sunshine. We increase the clouds on Wednesday and look forward to the holiday on Thursday. At this point watching for perhaps a few scattered storms Thursday evening, although not a washout by any means.
TONIGHT: Clear, cool, comfortable. Lows near 65. TUESDAY: Sunny and warm again. Highs near 84. Lows near 66.
WEDNESDAY: A few more clouds and a bit more humid. Highs around 84. Lows up to 71. THURSDAY – FOURTH OF JULY: Hazy, hot and humid. Highs just shy of 90. Pop-up t-storms are possible around sunset, the timing has been trending later. While most BBQs/pool plans are good to go, fireworks may be impacted. Lows around 75.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon. Highs near 88. Lows near 74.
HOLIDAY WEEKEND: Not the best, but not the worst. Partly cloudy and very humid. Highs near 90. Afternoon storm chances Saturday afternoon, dry Sunday. Lows in the 70s.
ALSO: in the tropics, Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Grenada as a powerful Category 4 hurricane and is now on the verge of becoming the earliest-ever Cat 5 on record. Southern coast of Haiti and the Dominican Republic could see outer bands (tropical storm watch in effect) but will be spared of direct impacts. Landfall as a Category 2 is likely along the southern Yucatan coastline of Mexico later this week.
