        Suffolk police: 2 girls, ages 2 and 4, die after being found unresponsive at Holtsville pond

        Authorities say officers responded to a 911 call from a family reporting two missing girls from an apartment in the Fairfield Townhouses on Victorian Court shortly after 3:15 p.m.

        Suffolk County police say two girls, ages 2 and 4, died after being found unresponsive at a pond in Holtsville on Saturday afternoon.
        Authorities say officers responded to a 911 call from a family reporting two missing girls from an apartment in the Fairfield Townhouses on Victorian Court shortly after 3:15 p.m.
        Responding officers and residents searched the complex before the girls were found in a pond where they were pulled unresponsive, according to police.
        The sisters were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
        Police ask anyone with any information about the incident to call them at 631-852-6392.
