Two students were taken into custody Tuesday following separate reports of firearms inside schools in the Bronx and Brooklyn, according to the NYPD.

Police say officers responded to Eximius College Prep School on Fulton Avenue in the Bronx around 11:15 a.m. after a 911 call came in for a student with a firearm.

Officers found a 15-year-old student with the gun. He was taken into custody, and the firearm was recovered.

Hours later, police responded to Brooklyn Law and Tech High School around 2:07 p.m. for another report of a student with a firearm. A 17-year-old student was taken into custody.

It is unclear whether or not the two incidents are related to each other.
