        Stormy weather causes damage, power outages across New Jersey

        Stormy weather tore through New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
        The heavy rain caused flooding, storm damage and power outages.
        A tree fell onto a house on Highland Avenue in Hillside. No injuries were reported.
        Officials say strong winds caused a brush fire in Jackson Township off Bennets Mills Road. The fire burned 11 acres of land before crews put it out.
        The strong winds caused multiple power outages across the state.
        New Jersey Transit says that service into and out of New York Penn Station was delayed due to weather-related power issues in one of Amtrak’s Hudson River tunnels.
        Utility crews were out in full force making repairs to get the lights back up for thousands of New Jersey residents.
        The stormy weather mostly cleared out by around 8 p.m. Wednesday. News 12 Storm Watch meteorologists say that the rest of the week and into next should be sunny and mild.
