        WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Colder and breezy winds will come in overnight and into Wednesday morning.
Wednesday has temperatures near normal, but it will feel a little colder with lingering winds. Thankfully for all your travel needs, Wednesday is a dry day across the Hudson Valley.
Another system will bring rain and wind to the region Wednesday night into Thursday, with some higher elevated areas seeing a wintry mix to snow. Thanksgiving will be a soaker all across the region. Most locations will have a cold rain coming down, with the exception being western portions of Orange County and into the Catskills of Ulster County.
In total, rainfall amounts will be about 1 inch for Thanksgiving Day. Unlike the last system last week, this one will be moving in and out at a decent pace. Last week's system looped around and lingered, which resulted in the cold and the snow. Snowfall/wintry mix totals are around a coating to an inch on grassy and elevated surfaces closer to the Catskills. Some of the higher peaks in Ulster County could see a few inches.
As the system pulls away, breezy winds and colder air will swing down into the region. Breezy winds will last through the rest of the holiday weekend as temperatures gradually get colder for the daytime highs and overnight lows.
Don't expect a warmup anytime soon though. Temperatures will be trending below average for all of the first week of December.
