Over 100 brave individuals took the plunge into the frosty Hudson River this weekend for the annual Stony Point Seals Plunge in Rockland County.
This charity event aims to raise money for children facing medical expenses, and this year marks the first time four children will directly benefit from the funds collected.
David, a participant in the plunge, shared his personal contribution, stating, "I've raised $2,325. And this is my first year."
John Fox, another member of the Stony Point Seals, highlighted the community spirit, saying, "This little county is the smallest county in the state. Yet there is the most generosity coming here. And we see it, year after year."
The event took additional effort this year due to a recent snowstorm. A team of volunteers arrived early to clean up the area, ensuring the event could proceed smoothly.
