A Connecticut marketing campaign promoting the state’s pizza scene is getting national recognition.
The “Pizza Capital of the U.S.” campaign won a Gold Effie Award.
The effort was led by marketing agency Adams & Knight along with the Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism.
Officials say the campaign generated more than 19 billion media impressions.
It also boosted searches for Connecticut pizza by 68%.
Long-distance visitation increased by 37% as a result of the campaign.
The campaign even received national attention with a mention on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
