        State officials bring public more information about state’s tax relief programs

        Leaders gathered in Nutley on Tuesday to explain the ANCHOR and Senior Freeze programs that the state offers.
        The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program replaces the former homestead benefit. Whether you rent or own -- eligible applicants could receive tax relief payments ranging from $450 to $1,500 some over 65 could receive an additional $250.
        The Senior Freeze program reimburses property taxes for eligible seniors and people with disabilities.
